hi all,
Just a few questions to start.

I have just bought a std 99 Mint r6, I would like to make the rear end more modern, brake light, indicators etc.
Where do I get these from and does anyoone have any pics of a modded rear end.

Also whats the best oil to put in the bike.

Many thanks in advance

For trick bits have a look at ebay mate... search '99 R6' and trawl through the results.. For a tidy rear end have a look at the link below..

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTRAX-LED-TAIL-LIGHT-YAMAHA-R6-99-00-NAZ-2-/190415502231?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2c55a5fb97

This link is to the Demon Tweeks site & is specific to your 99 plate bike..

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorcycle/Vehicle/Yamaha_1999_YZF-R6/197/60585

Thats weird really as the Ebay rear cluster is being sold from Tweeks for £30 but if you go to the official site its there for £80?? Looks the same...

Oh and if your not planning on a pillion remove the rear pegs (you'll need to modify / buy another exhaust bracket) but just doing that really cleans up the back end

Word... And not that I'm seriously suggesting you do this as its illigal (and of course you'd only fit it at meets) but a small plate slims that ass down a lot...

The under tray AND tail unit from a 01/02 together with the l.e.d rear light will fit strait onto your 99 bike

This is what you need:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/R6-undertray-and-LED-rear-lights-/300449751831?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item45f4336317

(although that one does look to have a little chunk out of the bottom right section where the hanger goes...)

will probably sell mine with a small crack in once i swap mine over if you wanted one to repair, plastic weld on the inside would do it... (comes with lights and tail tidy)
